FAQ
New to pickleball or our leagues? Get quick answers to the most common questions about getting started, equipment, and what to expect.
Absolutely! Pickleball is much easier to learn than tennis, and many of our players started with zero experience. We have two skill divisions (3.0 and under for beginners, 3.5+ for more experienced players), and our draft days let you meet teams that welcome new players.
You'll need to bring your own paddle and pickleballs for matches. If you're just starting out, most sporting goods stores carry beginner paddle sets, and teammates are usually happy to let you try theirs before you buy your own.
We offer indoor play at Fairland Tennis Bubble (Mondays 7-9pm, climate-controlled year-round) and outdoor play in Rockville/Silver Spring (Sunday afternoons, fresh air and natural lighting). Both use the same format and skill divisions - choose based on your schedule and location preference.
If you don't have a team, attend our three draft nights where team captains are looking to fill their rosters. You'll meet multiple teams in a relaxed setting, discuss playing style and commitment levels, and find the best mutual fit before committing to a season.
Each session is only 4 weeks long with matches lasting 2 hours. Teams need a minimum of 4 players for combo format (6 for gender format), so you won't play every week. This makes it perfect for busy adults who want regular activity without overwhelming commitment.
